Adoption Process

Thank you for your interest in a Wee Little Basset puppy. Our puppies are born and raised on our 10 acre farm in Lone Jack, MO with help from our three children. Each puppy is AKC registered and will go home with updated vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped before they leave our care.

When we have available puppies we will go in order of the deposit put down which is $500.00 NON REFUNDABLE.  This deposit is to hold your puppy and goes toward your final payment. We accept Venmo or cash (in person). All puppies are to be paid for in FULL by 8 weeks of age or at the time of pick up. If not paid for in full by 8 weeks or at the time of pick up we reserve the right to place the puppy with another family on the waiting list.

Our puppies are allowed to go home at 8 weeks of age, we do not let them leave before then. Pick up at our farm is recommended.  We want the best for our basset pups and will not sell to just anyone so we would love to get to know our potential new families.  Our puppies will go home with a small bag of high protein dog food, some puppy pads, and a bottle of ear cleaner we use on our bassets!

HEALTH GUARANTEE: Breeder guarantees puppy to be free of all communicable diseases for a period of five days from the date of transfer to Buyer. Breeder also guarantees puppy to be free from life threatening congenital disorders up until puppy reaches 6 months of age. Any medical condition must be proven and documented by 2 licensed veterinarians. Buyer agrees to take puppy to a licensed veterinarian for examination within one week from date of transfer of puppy from breeder to buyer. Guarantee is null and void if buyer does not follow agreement for vet exam. Buyer must notify breeder within 48 hours of unsatisfactory findings on puppy’s Veterinary health exam. Breeder will not accept any responsibility for injury during transportation or once received by Buyer, reactions to vaccines/medications, flea/tick preparations, or disorders caused by environmental factors, parasites/bacteria, allergies, thyroid, or autoimmune diseases. In the unlikely event of serious life threatening illness during the first 6 months of the puppy’s life, the breeder is NOT responsible for medical bills, but would consider replacing the puppy only if the life threatening condition was genetic or congenital. If puppy has a serious life threatening illness during the guarantee time period, the puppy may eventually be replaced when another one comes available, OR a possible refund of the purchase price of puppy. Negotiation between the Buyer and Breeder will determine the appropriate course of action.
